Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what we’re asked most. Can’t find yours? Message us.
What documents do I need to file?
ID, your Social Security number or ITIN (and your dependents’), your W-2 or 1099 forms and last year’s return if you have it. See the full checklist.
Can I file without a Social Security number?
Yes. You can file with an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number). We help you apply for or renew it.
How long does my refund take?
The IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days when you e-file and choose direct deposit. If you claim the EITC or the Additional Child Tax Credit, the law does not allow the refund before mid-February. Check your status at Where’s My Refund?
What is the filing deadline?
Usually April 15. You can request an extension to October 15 to file, but not to pay: if you owe, it’s best to pay by April.
Do you work with businesses and self-employed (1099) workers?
Yes. We prepare taxes for LLCs, corporations and self-employed workers, and help you track expenses to use every deduction.
Can I fix a prior-year return?
Yes, with an amendment (Form 1040-X). Generally you have up to 3 years from when you filed to claim a refund.
How do I start an LLC?
We register your company with the right state office for your state, get your EIN from the IRS and explain your federal and state tax obligations from day one.
How much does tax preparation cost?
It depends on your situation (forms, dependents, business). Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll give you an estimate before we start.
Can you help me in English?
Yes. We serve clients in both Spanish and English.
Ready to file stress-free?
Book your appointment today. We serve you in Spanish or English, in person in Bridgeport or on WhatsApp.
