What to bring to your appointment
Use this checklist to have everything ready so your return is fast and complete.
Identification
- Photo ID (driver’s license, passport or ID)
- Social Security card or ITIN letter (yours, spouse’s and dependents’)
- Dates of birth for all dependents
- Last year’s return, if you have it
Income
- W-2 forms from every job
- 1099 forms (NEC, MISC, K, G, INT, DIV)
- Cash or self-employment income
- Unemployment or Social Security benefits (SSA-1099)
Credits & deductions
- Childcare expenses (provider name, address and EIN)
- Form 1098-T (tuition) and 1098-E (student loans)
- Form 1098 mortgage interest
- Form 1095-A if you have Marketplace health insurance
If you own a business
- Summary of the year’s income and expenses
- Business bank statements
- Business mileage
- EIN and your LLC or corporation documents
For your refund
- Bank routing and account number for direct deposit
